Purcell

All are edited by Clifford Bartlett (except for King Arthur, edited with peter Holman and Maxwell Sobel). King Arthur is available in German, and a German Dido and Aeneas is in preparation.

Full scores are used as vocal scores, except that a few works have vocal copies that omit purely instrumental music and give voices and continuo. Chirus copies omit the solo parts as well. No editions have piano reductions or realisations of the bass.

Sets include only the parts listed: in view of the absence of the double bass from Purcell's orchestra, a double bass part is not automatically included in a set, nor is a bessoon unless specified.
